On July 23 2018, Ambassador He Xiangdong met with H.E. Gen. Taban Deng Gai, First Vice President of Republic of South Sudan.

H. E. Gen. Taban Deng Gai spoke highly of China-South Sudan pragmatic cooperation in various fields, commended China for its long-standing support and generous help for South Sudan, and expected further progress in pragmatic cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador He said that China attaches great importance to developing friendly relations with South Sudan. As South Sudan's true friend and good partner, China is willing to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with South Sudan in various fields, so as to promote economic and social development of South Sudan and improve living standards of South Sudanese people.

They also exchanged views on some details of China-South Sudan cooperation projects.
