On July 19, 2018, Ambassador He Xiangdong met with Hon. Deng Deng Hoc, Minister of General Education and Instruction of South Sudan. Mr. Cai Senming, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy, was present at the meeting.

Minister Hoc said that South Sudan attaches great importance to its cooperation and exchange with China in education sector. South Sudan is very grateful to the Chinese government and people for support extended to the education sector of South Sudan since its independence in 2011. South Sudan hopes to continue its improvement in education with the support from China.

Ambassador He pointed out that education is fundamental for economical and social development of a nation. Cooperation in education sector is an important part of the pragmatic cooperation between China and South Sudan. China is ready to step up cooperation with South Sudan in education in order to promote its economical and social development.
