Chinese Embassy in South Sudan and Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion Hold “Bringing Chinese Culture to Campus” Event

Chinese Embassy in South Sudan, joined by the Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion, held “Bringing Chinese Culture to Campus” Event and donated stationary and daily necessities at the China-aided Jubek Model Martyrs Secondary School on May 26, 2026. Mrs. Huo Ying, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Chinese Embassy in South Sudan, Col. Wen Haiyuan, Commander of the Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion and its representatives, Hon. Peter Ladu, Director General of the Ministry of Education of Central Equatoria State, and Ms. Flora Victor Legge, Principal of Jubek Model Martyrs Secondary School, together with over 700 students were present.

Staff from Chinese Embassy delivered Chinese language lessons, where students practiced reading attentively and actively participated in Q&A sessions. The lively and interactive lessons drew continuous applause. Chinese peacekeepers energized the crowd with a series of stunning performances, including a lion dance, Sichuan opera face-changing, and martial arts. The student choir then sang the traditional Chinese song Jasmine Flower, deeply moving the audience. The venue was filled with enthusiasm and continuous cheering.

During the event, Ms. Legge expressed her expectation to further cultural exchanges between South Sudan and China, and applauded Chinas sustained support for South Sudans education and Jubek Model Martyrs Secondary School.
