On December 22, 2025, the Handover Ceremony of Medicines and Medical Instruments from the 13th Batch of China Medical Team to Juba Teaching Hospital was held in Juba. H.E. Amb. MA Qiang attended the ceremony together with Hon. Sarah Cleto Rial, Minister of Health of South Sudan and a delegation of Health Commission of Anhui Province.

Over the past 13 years, China has sent a total of 196 Chinese medical personnel to serve in South Sudan, providing medical services to over 90,000 patients and donations of medicines and medical instruments worth around 3.5 million dollars. Amb. MA Qiang observed that China will implement the Ten Partnership Actions on joining hands with Africa to advance modernization, one of which focuses on health cooperation, and contribute to the development of health services in South Sudan.

Hon. Minister Sarah Cleto Rial highly commended China Medical Team on their efforts of promoting the health and well-being of the South Sudanese, and expected to further strengthen the cooperation in the health sector between the two countries.
