New Chinese Ambassador to South Sudan H.E. Ma Qiang Presents Credentials to President Salva Kiir Mayardit

On November 10, Ambassador MA Qiang presented the Letter of Credence to H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit, and conveyed the cordial greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping. The two sides held cordial and fruitful talks afterwards.


President Kiir welcomed Ambassador MA to his new post, congratulated President Xi Jinping on his re-election as General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, and thanked China for its long-term support to South Sudan. President Kiir reaffirmed South Sudanese governments commitment to the one-China principle and his willingness to work together with President Xi and the Chinese side to continuously deepen the friendly relations between the two countries.

Amb. MA highly commended the fruitful outcomes of the friendly bilateral relations under the strategic guidance of heads of state of the two countries. China appreciates the firm position of the South Sudanese side on the one-China principle. Amb. MA emphasized thatChina will continue to provide assistance and support for South Sudan's peace and development to the best of its capability, and to call on the UN Security Council to lift the arms embargo and other sanctions against South Sudan at an early date.

Amb. MA briefed the President on the 20th National Congress of the CPC and expressed his commitment to promoting the bilateral relations and friendly cooperation between China and South Sudan so as to bring more tangible benefits to the people of the two countries.
