Chinese UNPOL donated to Central Equatoria State Police

During their recent visit to Central Equatoria State Police Headquarters, the Chinese UNPOL in UNMISS donated anti-Covid19 material and daily supply to their South Sudanese colleagues and shared policing experience together. Chinese Defense Attaché Brig. Feng Bo joined the visit with his colleagues.

The Commissioner of Central Equatoria State Police, Major General Monydhang Deng Kuol expressed appreciation for the donation. He praised the Chinese UNPOL's assistance and support to CES Police on capacity building and Covid 19 prevention. "China is a great country with hardworking people. I believe the bilateral relations between the two police forces will be reinforced through mutual cooperation and exchanges in the future", he said, adding that the CES Police would do their best to protect the safety of people including the local Chinese community.

The Chinese Eighth UNPOL Contingent was deployed in UNMISS December 2019. The 21 members of the Contingent have served in UNMISS sectors at Juba, Wau, Bor and Malakal, carrying out the duties of protecting civilians, promoting human rights, supporting humanitarian issues, facilitating peace process, preventing Sexual and Gender Based Violence.
