Ambassador Hua Ning attends the Hand Over Ceremony between the Outgoing and Incoming Interim Chairperson of RJMEC

On August 16, 2020, Ambassador Hua Ning attended the Hand Over Ceremony between the Outgoing and Incoming Interim Chairperson of the Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC). H.E Amb. Augostino Njoroge, Outgoing Interim Chairperson of RJMEC, H.E. Major Gen. Charles Gituai, Incoming Chairperson of RJMEC, H.E. Dr. Workneh Gebeyahu, IGAD Executive Secretary, Hon. Deng Dau Deng, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of South Sudan, and more than 50 people, including the representatives of signatories to the RARCSS and representatives of the diplomatic mission in South Sudan attended the ceremony.

During his speech at the ceremony, ambassador Hua spoke positively of the important progress made in the peace process of South Sudan, and hoped that all parties would continue to meet each other halfway to speed up the implementation of the peace agreement, eliminate inter-communal conflicts, and achieve peace and stability at an early date. He appreciated Njoroge's contribution to advancing the peace process in South Sudan, and he believed that Gituai will lead RJMEC to push for new breakthroughs in the peace process of South Sudan. He promised that China will work with the international community to continue to support the South Sudan peace process.
